Painting With The Girls 172

June 20, 2016

Day 172 (194 days to go)

12 5X7 panel Watercolor

Every painter needs a work place where they can achieve their art goals. This is a very personal space for each individual, and the idea is that a person should feel very comfortable while at work. If we live in the city, sometimes we are space challenged and must work in small rooms. In that case, it is very important for an artist to be organized, and use creativity to maximize the use of space.

Of course, the problem is not so easily solved for someone who needs large amounts of space because they have large art works. In that case, artists can share bigger studios or rent spaces in art groups or centers where they can then enjoy more light and more room to spread their materials and work.

If you have a room at home for your art space, it is important to have good light, and a system to store and keep art materials. Materials and art supplies should be organized and stored away so that these things that might get in the way of work do not distract the artist.  Some people feel like they also need a quiet space undisturbed by family members so that they can feel creative, comfortable and productive.
